Our annual meeting at the AAS in Seattle has been confirmed for April 1st Friday at 7:30 pm (“University” room at the Sheraton Seattle/Washington Convention Center). As our newly elected chair, Megan Thomas (UC Santa Cruz) will be present to jointly run the meeting; she will take over fully in September 2016 at the end of her sabbatical. Agenda items: We will run elections for a Treasurer (to replace Megan), elect three new members of the Advisory Board to replace those cycling off, present the Travel Awards for 2016 AAS (Seattle) and AAS-in-Asia (Kyoto), get an update on ICOPHIL 2016 in Silliman University this July from convenor Nita Churchill, begin the task of developing and organizing panels for AAS 2017, and much more! Please save the date!
In the meantime, we will soon announce applications for the 2016 PSG Travel Award. All graduate students and junior scholars with accepted papers in the AAS Seattle as well as the AAS-in-Asia in Kyoto are eligible. Here are last year’s awardees.
